Here is one of the pictures from Thanksgiving, I couldn't get the others to load but enjoy this one! :)
From left to right, Diana, Elizabeth, me holding Eras, and JuliaI'm not sure why the other pictures aren't loading. I'm having a little trouble with my computer so it may be related to that. I'm not sure.
I wanted to share some verses that I read yesterday with you all.
Jeremiah 17:7-8
But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD,
whose confidence is in Him.
He will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.
At first, when I read these, I was a little frustrated because it sounds like the verses are saying those who trust in the LORD won't have trouble. But then when I read the verses again, I realized that's not what these verses are saying at all. There will be heat, and drought will come, but the tree whose confidence is in the LORD will have no worries even though there is drought and heat - because that tree is trusting in God.
I'm learning that there is a subtle but distinct difference between trusting IN God and trusting God FOR something. It's not an easy thing to learn. Sometimes it's difficult to distinguish if my heart is trusting Him or if it's just trusting Him to bring me something or do something for me.
This past week has been a little frustrating for many different reasons, but as I read these verses I realized, that it is okay, I can still trust in God for He is my Rock. I don't know what His plans are for me, but He does, and I trust that those plans are to bring glory to His name. What a faithful God we serve. He works all things together for His good. We are called here to bring glory to His name, to point others to Him. I'm so grateful that He thinks us worthy to bear His message of hope to those around us.
As we head into the season of Christmas, I pray that you too will learn the peace of trusting in Him in a new and deeper way.
Blessings,
peggy
