Thanksgiving the Be'er Sheva Way

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday with lots of love, laughter, family, friends, and of course great food.

We had a grand feast here. We celebrated on Saturday afternoon as some of the students had an exam on Friday morning. This made it easier for everyone to be relaxed as we sat and visited around the table.

It was a beautiful day so we were able to eat outside. The sun was shining and we had a grand time. My friends Rachel and Philip Cardin have hosted Thanksgiving each year that we've been here. Philip cooks a big turkey and sweet potato pies. Rachel bakes rolls and apple pies. They are so yummy! I'd never had a sweet potato pie before meeting Philip (he's from Louisiana) but it's fast becoming one of my favorites although pumpkin still wins the race. :) The rest of us all chipped in the extras and it fast became way too much food - a true Thanksgiving tradition.

I was going to post some pictures of our time together but can't seem to get them to work - I've been trying for two days. So, I'll continue to try and if it works, then you'll see them here later.

I remembered something this fall that I started to do when I was in Papua New Guinea for the first time. I used to pause thru out the day and say, "Peggy, what are you going to thank the Lord for today." I've tried to start that tradition again. It's a good thing to do - so as I say farewell today, I ask you, my friends, what are you going to thank the Lord for today?

May you have a blessed beginning to your holiday season as you remember to thank Him for all His gifts.

Peggy

p.s. Happy Birthday Brookie! :)
