Friends, Family, and Fun

Well, it's certainly been a while since I updated this website! My apologies. Life sometimes gets so busy that things get put by the wayside.

In May, I had the opportunity to go to a Folk Music Festival with several of my friends from the upper classes. The festival was by the Sea of Galilee. It was a great weekend, full of fun, laughter, music, and lots of relaxation. Most ot the people who went were the "over 30" crowd. They have been such a blessing to me in the short time we've been able to spend together while in Israel. Most of them graduated this year and have returned to the States to begin their residencies. It was hard to see them go, knowing it would be a while before we get to see each other again but it was also exciting to see them accomplishing their goals.

At the end of May, I took my final class in Rheumatology. It went well and I received word today that I passed the final exam. It is nice to have a little break from the intensity of classes. After the exam, I had a little pizza party for several of my friends from class and then the next day, got on the plane to come back to the States for the summer.

I first flew to Grand Junction, Colorado where I met my parents. We stayed with my Aunt Donna and Uncle Jim. It was so nice to have a few days to get together with some friends and family. It's never enough time but it was nice to relax there a bit before coming on home.

We've been home in Medford a little over a week now. It has been so much fun to see some of my friends and family here in Oregon. I've especially enjoyed going to the music concerts of my nieces and nephews. They are so talented and of course, they play the best in all the groups they participate in! (I'm so objective) :)

It was really nice to be able to go to church on Sunday. They have a lot going on and I was able to sign up for a couple of ministry opportunities. It will be nice to be able to give a little back to the folks who are so faithful in praying for me! We're going to wash windows for some of the folks in the church who need some help, and then in July, I'll be helping out at the annual 4th of July picnic that the church holds. I really am looking forward to serving others for a while. I also have applied for a job at the local Safeway as I'll be here for a while. It will be nice to save a little spending money over the summer.
Don't worry, I'm also studying ahead for the classes I'll be taking this fall. The first class I will have is on the respiratory system. It's not one of my favorites but so far, it has been interesting. I've posted some pictures at the end of this blog showing some of the activities I've had so far. Hope you enjoy them.

As always, thank you all for your prayers. I hope I can see many of you this summer!
Shalom in Him,
Peggy
