Wow - who would have ever thought I would have the opportunity to see a Casting Crowns concert in Jerusalem! What a great experience. There were about 8 of us that rode the bus up to Jerusalem and went to the concert. It was a wonderful time of praise and worship. We also got to see some of our friends from the House of Light at the concert so that was an added blessing. The whole Casting Crowns group wasn't available. It was the two guitar players and Mark Hall. He did a great job. It was so neat to hear some more about him and his work. Each of the guys who were here, are youth pastors. They work in their churches Sunday thru Wednesday and then tour with the group Thursday thru Saturday. All the proceeds from the concert in Jerusalem went to an organization called Potter's Wheel.
I was talking during the intermission with another student. She is a 4th year and will graduate this spring. She was talking about how terrifying it is to think she is going to be a Doctor in June - starting to practice and the feelings of inadequecy she is experiencing. We both wondered if we would ever feel adequate to be doctors. After the intermission, Mark talked about how he had dyslexia and never dreamed he would become a writer but how God's promise to Paul is that He uses our weaknesses. Talk about getting hit between the eyes with words of truth. Mark emphasized that God doesn't need us, but He wants us - He wants to use us to share His word with others around us. Pray for us that we will remember that it is God who is in control and who is using us. We are just vessels.
